I’ve always loved the taste of a chocolate cake with cherries either in or on it. Growing up my Nonna would make a black forest cake and I remember it being one of my favorites. Playing around with my crock pot and having made many cobblers in it before I wondered what chocolate would bring to the picture. Many of my friends have raved about it so I figured… what the heck!
While many call this a dump cake ( and the jokes were flying with that one) we decided that Chocolate Cherry bomb was a much easier way to describe it.
Here’s what you’re going to need!
1 Box of Chocolate Cake mix ( I used Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake)
1 Stick of Butter
1 Can (21 to 29 oz) of Cherry Pie Filling
The How To –
Melt the butter and combine with cake mix until almost doughy
Pour Can of cherries into crock pot and top with doughy cake mix evenly.
Cook on high for 2 1/2 hours than change to warm.
Scoop, serve, and enjoy!!!
