Calling all Fine Haired Friends!! In Search of Volume: The Fine Hair Addition??
I have a few questions for you: do you have fine hair, is it medium to short in length, is it lifeless? Do you long for volume, weightlessness, and **ck me/Dallas style glamour? Would you like to bring out your natural texture? Do you find yourself desperately seeking a product that will make your hair the envy supermodels without using a canister of dry shampoo or texturizing spray? Well, keep reading, this blog post is for you. As a fine hair product aficionado (and a beauty product addict) I find myself consistently searching for the next ‘big’ thing when it comes to my hair. So often I try a product (this is the addiction I alluded to) only to find myself lamenting my purchase whilst suffering from buyer’s remorse. Consistently I try to talk myself out of new shampoos, conditioners, or style enhancers by repeating the mantra, “what you have works”, but the devil on my shoulder always wins, whispering self-doubt into my ear, ‘try it Courtney, this one is better’. Frequently this devil speak works and I wind up purchasing the product only to find myself making a special trip back to the store while offering unsolicited performance reviews to the cashier (as if she cares about my justification) as she issues my return. Now, I have color treated, finely textured, limp, weather afflicted hair that I wear in a semi-short shoulder length bob. If products are too heavy my hair looks stringy and oily; if products are too light they end up matting my hair provoking me to tear through leaving more on the brush than on my head. This is why Rock It is so fantabulous as it makes fine hair look like eight strands instead of four, basically concentrating fine hair with twice the volume and twice the sexability than anyone with limp hair has any right to expect. Now, on their website, Matrix describes Rock It as a product line “with Polymers, to help boost structure to short and wavy hair for style and definition”, and indeed, it does. Now I haven’t a clue what a polymer is, or how it works, and frankly I could care less as I’ve never experienced a shampoo and conditioner combo that adds moisture, with structure, but without weight quite like this one.
Here’s the real kicker, it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg as a 10.1oz bottle is around $12.00. If you have fine hair then you know a bottle this size can last a solid 2-3 months as, with our hair type, less is often more. And that’s what makes this product so unique, you don’t need extras. By extras I mean all the style enhancers to boost and plump up the hair, the shampoo does it for you. So, if you’re like me, and believe that a good shampoo/conditioner is hard to find pick up Rock It Texture by Matrix on your next trip to Ulta, just tell’em your crazy hair obsessed friend sent you. You can thank me later.
