I am so excited that spring is officially here. This means we can dust off the grill! We absolutely love to grill out, and do so as often as possible! One of our favorite foods in the whole wide world is chicken on the grill. Don’t you love to hear it sizzle and smell that amazing aroma?!

I try to serve healthy meals as often as I can. One of our favorites is my Souvlaki Chicken Gyro Wrap With Tzatziki Sauce. It is packed full of flavor and topped with fresh veggies! It is a big crowd pleaser. When you make this recipe, you are going to want to brush or spray the grill with olive oil. Your chicken may stick if you don’t. After we made this recipe, we found the metal skewers work better, so if you have ‘em, use ‘em.

When your chicken is cooked, you will want to make an assembly line to make your wrap. Lay your bread out and then layer your lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, chicken and sauce. These are messy, so have some napkins ready!

Souvlaki Chicken Gyro Wraps With Tzatziki Sauce
Recipe type: Sandwich
Cuisine: Greek
  • Soulvaki Chicken Sandwich:
  • 1½ pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • ¼ cup olive or grapeseed oil
  • ¼ cup minced garlic
  • 1 lemon, sliced thin
  • 1 lime, sliced thin
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • For wrap:
  • 1 piece of flatbread
  • 1 fresh tomato , diced
  • ½ fresh cucumber, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2-3 Romaine lettuce leaves
  • ½ cup chopped red cabbage
  • Tzatziki Sauce:
  • ½ cup cucumber, peeled, seeded, and diced
  • ¾ cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • Fresh dill
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. Mix your chicken, yogurt, lime juice, garlic, salt and pepper, olive oil and seasonings and put mixture in a airtight container. Allow to marinate for 2-3 hours minimum.
  2. Preheat your grill to high and brush with olive oil. If you are using wooden skewers, soak in water for 5 minutes.
  3. Slide 6-8 pieces of chicken onto your skewers. Alternate with your lemon and lime slices in between the chickenWhen the grill is ready, lay your skewers in the middle of the grill and close the lid. Turn after 3 minutes. Cook an additional 3-4 minutes, until chicken is cooked through.
  4. Take skewers off the grill. Remove chicken from the skewers. Lay out your flatbread. Layer in this order: lettuce, cabbage, cukes, tomatoes, chicken and the tzatziki sauce.
